Steve Jobs in his speech at Stanford talked about connecting the dots.
He said — “You can't connect the dots looking forward, only backward”
It means life only makes sense when you look back.
As above, I realized my successes backwards too.
- I made daily youtube videos for six-months and nobody watched. But as I look back, I understand. All that unrewarded work helped me build character and speaking skills.
- I got RSI in my wrists which stopped me from typing. I couldn't take notes with clients. It forced me into improving my memory and remembering about each client. This 3x my business.
Same is in your life.
You might be lost. Your work might not get rewarded. It might feel like you're going nowhere.
But deep down you have to believe.
You have to believe that down the line the dots will connect.
Call it faith or your gut but believe that it will work out — because it does.
